Monetizing Excess Assets

As we continue to experience the global financial meltdown we may want to consider some alternative ideas to increase revenue or liquidate excess assets.

Individuals and corporations have dramatically shifted and adjusted to current market forces which have in effect, changed the way business has been done. More specifically, buyers are holding off purchasing and cash is missing as a first choice currency.

Alternatively, new business models are evolving and secondary currency is now being used to move excess assets or excess capacity. What is alternative capital, secondary currency or transformation funding?

Any excess can be used a secondary capital. A major newspaper or magazine always has excess advertising space it can’t sell. Every airline has unsold seats that it can never monetize when the cabin door is shut. Every hotel owner has rooms it didn’t sell last night.

We have more unused or vacant real estate than we can ever use.  These are excess assets.

Many people continue to think business will turn around and we’ll get back to the good old days of doing business.  How much time do you want to wait?  We believe those who embrace new ideas and creative strategies will benefit from the present financial chaos.

The Venture Capital industry can be a taker for excess assets. Which means a company can invest something it can’t sell into an early stage breakthrough company that could generate a future profit.  What if a company or an individual could have invested an excess asset into Google or Microsoft many years ago?  What’s the possibility?
